Scholarship Applications

* Department staff is currently developing the application form. Prospective students, please see timeline below and the prospective student tab for more information on how to prepare your application.

It is important that students meet various deadlines in order to be nominated for a Self Memorial Scholarship. The following serves as a suggested timeline for prospective Self Memorial Scholars

Sept- November

Check with your chosen department to confirm application deadlines and required information. Submit your KU graduate school application as early as you can since departments will prepare nominations in late January. Make sure you have identified good sources for letters of recommendation. Update your resume.

December- January

Confirm with your chosen department that your application is complete and that all supporting materials have been received.

Review our website for Scholar information. If you would like to apply for the scholarship, you will be asked to write a personal statement that is specific to the Self Memorial Scholarship. This personal statement is one of the most important documents in the application process. You will also be asked to submit 3 letters of recommendation. One letter must be from a faculty member in your chosen graduate program.

Nomination deadline for all applications: Monday, March 23, 2020 at noon CST

End of March, 2020: Committee reviews scholarship applications.

Early April, 2020: Commitee makes final scholarship offer decisions. Students who receive offers will be notified by email. If awarded, students must formally accept or decline the scholarship before the April deadline.

April 15, 2020: Latest deadline for student acceptance of offers.
