Travis Edwards is a 2019-2023 Self Graduate Fellow pursuing a Ph.D. in economics at the University of Kansas. He received a B.S. (2019) in economics, with minors in English and mathematics, from the University of Texas at Tyler. His research focuses on developing a better understanding of the relationship between economic growth and environmental degradation, with the intention of implementing effective public policy regarding global environmental and economic development issues. Before beginning his academic career, Travis worked in the health and safety industry and also served as a medic in the military. He is from the East Texas area where his wife, Lindsey, son, Myles, and daughters, Madelaine and Zoey, are excited to begin this new chapter in Kansas. After finishing his doctoral study, Travis plans on being a researcher in academia at a research institution, or in the non-profit sector.
