Emily Roberts is a 2020-2024 Self Graduate Fellow pursuing a Ph.D. in molecular and integrative physiology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Born and raised in Mason, Michigan, Roberts obtained her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Her current research focuses on pathways that are involved within female reproductive system dysfunction, focusing mostly on the REST pathway in uterine leiomyoma, endometriosis, and adenomyosis pathogenesis. Her goal is to tackle the unmet medical need of functional treatments and therapies for such disorders, translating to her future aspirations within biotechnology and eventually owning her own biotech company. In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time camping and hiking with her husband and their two dogs, learning new cooking and baking skills, and overall spending time with her family.
