Nicholas Ferry

Nick Ferry is a 2020-2024 Self Graduate Fellow pursuing a Ph.D. in geology from the University of Kansas. Originally from Morris, Illinois, he received a B.S. (2018) in geology from Northern Illinois University and an M.S. (2020) in geology from the University of Cincinnati. Nick’s research interests lie in using a multidisciplinary approach to understand basin formation, evolution, and resource potential. After finishing his doctoral study, he plans to pursue a career in R&D with a supermajor oil company, research institute, or the federal government. From 2008 – 2012, Nick served honorably in the US Marine Corps where he reached the rank of Sergeant.
