Biography

Aisha Malik is a 2024-2025 Self Memorial Scholar pursuing an M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Kansas. She holds a B.A. in Speech Pathology Language and Hearing, along with a Certificate in Service Learning from the University of Kansas, graduating with departmental and university honors. During her undergraduate studies, Aisha was actively involved in leadership roles, including serving as the Audiology Chair and Graduate Chair for the National Student Speech Hearing Language Association and Co-Director of Programs for the Student Alumni and Endowment Board. She also contributed as an academic coach for Transitioning to Post-Secondary Education and participated in Students for Justice in Palestine. Aisha’s research experience includes working as an Emerging Scholar in The Center for Digital Inclusion and as an undergraduate researcher in The Baby Lab at KUMC. Passionate about cultural competency in speech pathology, Aisha plans to work in a pediatric setting post-graduation, aiming to diversify and advocate for inclusive practices within the field.
