Self Graduate Fellowship Nomination Checklist

Each nomination should include the following files:

  • Copy of KU graduate school application
  • Student resume or CV
  • Application statement from student to department (if required)
  • Copy of transcripts of all college work (and KU Advising Report for first-year Ph.D. students)
  • Copy of GRE scores (if required)
  • Letters of recommendation for admission
  • Student’s Self Graduate Fellowship personal statement
  • Student’s Access Waiver Form
  • Letter of nomination from the department (this may come from the chair or other faculty member)
  • Self Graduate Fellowship letter of recommendation

For new Ph.D. students

One Self Graduate Fellowship specific letter of recommendation is required, other letters will come from the Ph.D. application file. Letters may come from individuals identified by the students.

For first-year Ph.D. students

One Self Graduate Fellowship specific letter of recommendation is required, this should come from a current KU faculty member. Other letters will come from the Ph.D. application file.
