Doctoral Fellowships for tomorrow's leaders


The Madison and Lila Self Graduate Fellowship’s main recruitment goal is to plan and implement activities for recruiting new Fellows, in collaboration with colleagues, graduate studies, and with the 21 eligible University of Kansas Ph.D. programs. The Recruitment Coordinator travels regionally and nationally to recruit at meetings and colleges/universities. The Recruitment coordinator seeks to identify and connect with prospective students who posses the potential and motivation to believe notable leaders and who can be expected to make a significant contribution to their chosen profession and to society. Mid-SURE Graduate Recruitment Fair: More than 300 Michigan State University undergraduate students, visiting students participating in MSU summer research programs, and students from select institutions across the region will showcase their research at the 2017 Mid-Michigan Symposium for Undergraduate Research Experiences from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on July 26 at the Huntington Club inside Spartan Stadium. In addition to showcasing their summer research project, participants will also have the opportunity to meet with graduate school recruiters from several different colleges and universities from a wide variety of programs.

KU Engineering and Computing Career Fair: The KU Engineering Career Center's mission is to provide information, resources and opportunities to engineering and computing students so they may confidently pursue their desired career goals. This includes connecting students to potential employers and graduate / professional school programs. We serve both students and employers alike by hosting our own bi-annual engineering & computing career fairs. The KU Engineering Career Center also conducts mock interviews, resume reviews, employer information sessions, on-campus interviews and more.

Purdue University Big Ten + Graduate School Expo: You can expect to meet highly talented potential graduate students from across the nation, as well as Purdue, that are interested in Engineering, Mathematics, Science, Technology, or related fields. The average attendee's GPA has consistently been greater than 3.6/4.0. In addition, the majority of attendees possess research experience. In 2016, students from 42 different states and Puerto Rico, and 126 institutions attended the event. Review a complete list of past participating students' home institutions. Students from a variety of institutions and organizations are invited to attend the Grad Expo, including McNair Scholars, LSAMP program participants, honors students, summer research program participants, and many more.

ABRCMS: The Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS), is one of the largest communities of underrepresented minorities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Students attend this conference to present their research, explore graduate schools, and network. Research faculty and program directors play an essential role in mentoring students and strategies for facilitating student success. During the four-day conference, over 1,800 students from over 350 colleges and universities participate in poster and oral presentations in twelve STEM disciplines. All undergraduate student presentations are judged and those receiving the highest scores in each scientific discipline will be given an award during the closing banquet.
