Support for tomorrow's leaders

The Madison and Lila Self Graduate Fellowship’s main recruitment goal is to plan and implement activities for recruiting new Fellows and Scholars, in collaboration with colleagues, graduate studies, and with the 21 eligible University of Kansas Ph.D. programs. The Program Coordinator is responsible for all recruitment responsibilites and travels regionally and nationally to recruit at meetings and colleges/universities. The Program Coordinator seeks to collaborate with academic departments in order to identify prospective students who posses the potential and motivation to make a significant contribution to their chosen profession and society.

Please look over the recruitment schedule posted below and refer your students to our booth! We are always happy to connect with departments at home or during a conference visit. Departments will have access to student information that is collected by SGF at fairs, and it can be found in the Admit/Prospect system.

Our office is also willing to present information about the Self Graduate Fellowship and Self Memorial Scholarship, whether you are training department recruiters/ambassadors or planning prospective student events.  Please contact the Program Coordinator for more information or to schedule a presentation.

For any questions regarding the recruitment schedule, please contact Program Coordinator Christine Cain at
