Biography —
Archisa Ghimire is a 2025-2026 Self Memorial Scholar pursuing a M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology. She earned a BGS in Speech-Language-Hearing with a minor in Applied Behavioral Science at the University of Kansas. During her undergraduate career, Archisa was a research assistant in Dr. Dozier's lab at GoodLife Innovations and Dr. McDonald's Speech in Little Bilinguals lab. During her time in the Speech in Little Bilinguals lab, Archisa was awarded the Undergraduate Research Award and presented her research at the university's online symposium. Archisa was a teaching fellow through Breakthrough Collaborative, a non-profit striving to help first-generation students to post-secondary education, in the Greater Boston Area. She was involved in KU's National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) and served as Secretary her third year of college and Co-President her last year of college. Additionally, she participated in KU's undergraduate practicum experience for speech-language pathology in Dr. Myrick's team. She worked with adolescent and adult clients on their goals in language, literacy, learning, and articulation. Archisa worked as a Student Office Assistant for the Speech-Language-Hearing department for three years. At the end of her undergraduate career, Archisa was awarded with departmental honors and the Undergraduate Student Service Award. In the future, Archisa hopes to work in a medical setting with individuals recovering from strokes or traumatic brain injuries and individuals with acquired disorders.
