Avery Hantla

Avery Hantla is a 2026–2030 Self Graduate Fellow from Lenexa, KS, pursuing a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering. He earned his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Kansas in Spring 2025. Avery previously spent several summers interning at GE Aerospace, contributing to the development of a next-generation open-fan aircraft engine. During this time, he performed the first computational fluid dynamics simulation of the new engine integrated with an airframe. His current research focuses on transition-resolving wall-modeled large eddy simulations, adaptive high-order methods, and deforming mesh techniques.
