Benjamin Shaw

Benjamin Shaw is a 2024-2025 Self Memorial Scholar pursuing a Master of Business Administration at the University of Kansas. He graduated with university and departmental honors in chemical engineering and a minor in biomedical engineering in the spring of 2024. In his undergrad, he worked with both Steven Soper and Mark Shiflett, Foundation Distinguished Professors of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering respectively. With his research, he was awarded the undergraduate research fellowship within the school of engineering, presented at the Biomedical Engineering Society’s national conference, and co-authored peer-reviewed publications. His career goals are to translate technology from research to commercial products in the medical device field with applications in global health. After receiving his MBA, he plans to pursue further graduate school.
