Biography —
Brett Cranor is a 2026-2027 Self Memorial Scholar pursuing a Master of Arts in Economics. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Kansas in May 2026, graduating with highest distinction. As an undergraduate, Brett served as a Lead Peer Tutor at the Wingspan: Center for Learning and Writing Support and an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Kansas Data Science Consortium. At the Consortium, he completed applied data science projects focused on Kansas disaster relief and international trade, presenting his findings at multiple conferences across the Midwest. Brett has also gained private-sector experience, serving as a Data Analytics intern at Advantage Solutions and a Data Science intern at H&R Block, where he built machine learning models in the financial technology space. In the future, Brett plans to pursue a Ph.D. in economics, with strong interests in industrial organization and international trade.
