Biography —
Connor Looney is a 2024-2025 Self Memorial Scholar pursing an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Business from the University of Kansas in 2024. He also graduated from the University Honors Program and earned the designation of Outstanding Senior in Mechanical Engineering. In his undergraduate career, Connor was an Undergraduate Teaching Fellow, Supplemental Instruction Leader, and Grader in a variety of engineering classes. In addition to this, he was the Local Project Chair of Engineers Without Borders, and currently holds the position of Director of International Projects. Over his summers he held multiple internships, including positions at Burns & McDonnell, Spirit Aerosystems, Chevron Phillips Chemicals, and Rockwell Labs. After completing his graduate education, Connor plans to pursue a career focused on thermo-fluidic design and analysis to contribute to improving efficiency and sustainability in fluidic processes.
