Biography

Dalton A. Brucker-Hahn is a 2019-2023 Self Graduate Fellow who received their Ph.D. in May 2023 from the University of Kansas in Computer Science. He received a B.S. (2018) in Computer Science from Kansas State University and an M.S. (2020) in Computer Science from the University of Kansas.  His current doctoral research focuses on applying the security and management of microservice software systems and service mesh technology that manages these environments. With the goal of making these systems more dynamic and resilient to errors, threats, and other security-related factors.  His current interest is to better model, design, and incorporate cybersecurity concerns in cloud orchestration tools to enable future software applications and system design.  He has interned at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Argonne National Laboratory as a cybersecurity operations intern and cybersecurity research intern, respectively. Dalton will be joining Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, California upon graduation, working as a Senior Research Scientist in the Emerging Technologies Security Group.
