Elise Wehrmann

Elise Wehrmann is a 2024-2025 Self Memorial Scholar pursuing her Doctroate of Physical Therapy at KU Medical Center. She currently holds a Bachelors in Excerise Science with a minor in Business from the University of Kansas. In her undergraduate years, Ellie represented Kansas Athletics as a member of the swim and dive team, serving as a captain. Ellie is also deeply committed to charitable causes, notably her involvement with Swim Across America. As a team captain, she played a pivotal role in organizing and leading fundraising efforts to support cancer research. Her leadership and dedication have contributed significantly to raising awareness and funds for this vital cause, showcasing her commitment to making a positive impact both in and out of the pool. In the future, Ellie hopes to work as a physical therapist in an outpatient setting, where she can help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals. She also plans to continue her work with Swim Across America, combining her professional skills with her passion to further contribute to the fight against cancer.
