Ella Hinson

Ella Hinson is a 2024-2025 Self Memorial Scholar pursuing her Master of Social Work (MSW) in macro practice at the University of Kansas. She holds a Bachelor's in Social Work from the University of Kansas. During her undergraduate studies, Ella completed her practicum at the Greater Kansas City Coalition to End Homelessness, where she developed a strong commitment to addressing homelessness and housing insecurity.

In her graduate career, Ella will be assisting the Vecino Group, furthering her experience in housing and community development. As a senior at KU Edwards, she served as a transfer ambassador, helping new students transition into the university community. Additionally, Ella holds a position on the NASW Kansas Board as a student representative, where she advocates for student interests and contributes to the advancement of the social work profession.

Ella aspires to work in public policy, where she hopes to make a significant impact on social issues through legislative and policy initiatives.
