Biography

Hunter Seamons is a 2026–2027 Self Memorial Scholar pursuing an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering after earning his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Kansas in 2026. His academic interests include unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), advanced flight control, and additive manufacturing. Under the direction of Dr. Shawn Keshmiri, his graduate research focuses on integrating additive manufacturing techniques with modern flight control systems to enhance UAS performance and accessibility. In summer 2025, Hunter was selected as a NASA Workforce Development Fellow and currently serves as Secretary of Sigma Gamma Tau, the aerospace engineering honor society. Following graduate school, he plans to pursue a career in the aerospace industry, advancing innovative flight technologies and next-generation aircraft/spacecraft systems. Hunter is also an Eagle Scout.
