Biography —
Jeffrey Xu is a 2022-2026 Self Graduate Fellow currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Kansas. He earned his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the same institution in 2020. Jeffrey's passion for flight was fostered by frequent visits to the National Air & Space Museum in his childhood. Although a severe case of Tourette's prevented him from realizing his dream of becoming a pilot, he redirected his enthusiasm into research on aircraft autonomy at the KU Flight Research Laboratory. His research focuses on guaranteed safety and stability of autonomous hypersonic vehicles under transient and uncertain dynamics. Through his work, Jeffrey aims to push the boundaries of autonomous hypersonic vehicles in support of our national defense.
