Biography

Joshua Navarro is a 2024-2025 Self Memorial Scholar pursuing an MPA in the City/County Management Fellowship. He graduated from the University of Kansas in May 2024 with undergraduate degrees in political science and public administration and a certificate in gender, policy, and law. At KU, he was involved in the KU Multicultural Scholars Program and the McNair Scholars Program, where he completed two research projects: one on the effects of redlining on economic wellbeing in Kansas City, Kansas, and another as a research intern with the city of North Kansas City, Missouri. He also worked as a student assistant at the KU School of Public Affairs and Administration. In his final year, he helped to establish the KU Public Affairs Student Association (PASA) and was nominated to serve on the Provost’s Budget and Tuition Student Advisory Committee. He is interning with the League of Kansas Municipalities as part of the Fellows program.
