Biography

Kaitlyn Hinz is a 2024-2028 Self Graduate Fellow pursuing a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at The University of Kansas Medical Center in the Neuroscience Graduate Program. She graduated from Drury University in December 2020 with a B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience and a B.A. in Chemistry with a minor in Psychology. Her graduate research is exploring the effect of early life stress (ELS) and exercise on the hippocampus. Specifically exploring metabolic and blood-brain barrier changes that may contribute to the negative health outcomes seen in adults that experienced ELS. Her long-term goal is to work in drug development while advocating for industry changes and providing scientific mentorship to the community.
