Biography —
Lana Heslop is a 2023-2027 Self Graduate Fellow pursuing a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She graduated from the University of Kentucky in December 2021 with a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Medical Laboratory Sciences and a minor in Psychology. As a current member of the Sensory Nerve Disorder Lab, her doctoral research is focused on the utilization of a ketogenic diet as a therapeutic mechanism for Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN). Her research delves into the metabolic changes that occur within sensory neurons and a variety of peripheral nerve health measures. Lana intends to apply her research to the development of affordable and accessible remedies for CIPN patients worldwide, as well as to the promotion of awareness and education regarding the various types of peripheral neuropathy.
