Biography

Manvir Kaur is a 2025–2026 Self Memorial Scholar pursuing a Master of Business Administration at the University of Kansas. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in May 2025, graduating with certificates in Cybersecurity and Writing. Manvir has gained professional experience through cybersecurity internships at CommunityAmerica Credit Union and Orange EV. At CommunityAmerica, she managed more than 500 identity and access management tickets, supported incident response, and led Active Directory audits and documentation improvements. At Orange EV, she implemented automated patching for 350+ devices, conducted vulnerability management, and enhanced the company’s overall security posture. She also served as a lecture assistant for EECS 168, helping students learn Python, and worked on a senior capstone project with Douglas County to design a secure ballot drop-box system that integrated hardware and software solutions to improve election integrity. Her leadership and service include serving as Treasurer of AbilityKU, supporting students with disabilities, and volunteering at Mill Creek Elementary School, where she taught fourth graders programming and promoted women in STEM. She has also held leadership positions with FIRST and IHAWKe, and founded EarthFirst, a sustainability-focused student organization. Fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, Manvir is passionate about bridging the gap between technology and business. After completing her MBA, she plans to pursue a career in cybersecurity and technology strategy, where she hopes to protect organizations and empower communities through secure, innovative solutions.
