Max Lianres

Max Linares is a 2025-2026 Self Memorial Scholar pursuing a Master of Church Music. Max earned a B.M. in Organ Performance and Church Music in May 2025. In his undergraduate career, he worked as the Organist and Pianist at Countryside United Methodist Church, a section leader and stand-in accompanist for KU Glee, and a Student Carillonist. Max is passionate about making music accessible, and about the importance of making music within a community. Max is a frequent recitalist, both on the organ and the KU Memorial Campanile. In the future, Max plans on being a Director of Music at a place of worship where he works with choirs, and has the opportunity to teach organ, carillon, and voice.
