Biography

Natalie Lind is a 2023-2027 Self Graduate Fellow pursuing a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry at the University of Kansas. She obtained a B.S in chemistry (2022) from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. During her undergraduate career her work on the optimization of the catalytic dimerization of 1H-indazole to bis(1H-indazol-1-yl)methane using 3d-metal salts was published in the journal Reactions. She expanded on this project by synthesizing metal-based complexes that contain this ligand for pharmaceutical research on anti-cancer pro-drugs. Lind will utilize her passion for process chemistry and reaction optimization during her doctoral research in Dr. James Blakemore’s lab. Her goal is to become a process chemist focused on promoting green energy in manufacturing facilities.

Mentor: James Blakemore, Ph.D.,  Associate Professor, Chemistry
