Parker Ford

Parker Ford is a 2023-2024 Self Memorial Scholar, pursuing an MPA in the City/County Management Fellowship. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Kansas in Sociology with a minor in Creative Writing. As an undergraduate, they worked for two years as a research assistant in the School of Social Welfare on an intervention looking to address the increased risks of cervical cancer for survivors of intimate partner violence. Ford graduated with distinction, honors, and the Department of Sociology Distinguished Graduate Award, being inducted as a member of the AKD International Sociology Honors Society. As part of the Fellows program, they are interning with the City of Overland Park and aim to continue social justice-oriented work in their future career in public service.
