Biography

Samuel Lim is a 2021-2025 Self Graduate Fellow pursuing a Ph.D. in computational biology at the University of Kansas. He holds a B.S. in computer science alongside mathematics and statistics from the University of Missouri, Kansas City (2020). Lim’s current research interests are design of enzymes de novo, outer membrane protein function, and formal optimization of computational methods. He makes use of both mathematical and experimental methods to complement an overall computational approach. Lim hopes to make molecular design and applied computing accessible to a more general audience while raising community awareness, where he hopes to further open collaborations.
