Sian Helfrich

Sian Helfrich is a 2025-2026 Self Memorial Scholar pursuing a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Emphasis). She graduated with distinction and was nominated as the outstanding graduate in architectural engineering in the spring of 2025. During her undergraduate career, she worked with Dr. Rémy Lequesne as a part of the undergraduate research fellowship through the school of engineering. With her research, she presented at the GEA Research Showcase and will be a co-author of a scholarly publication. She will continue her research career as a graduate research assistant. Her career goals are to pursue a PhD in structural engineering with the intent of eventually returning to academia to be a professor.
