Biography

Ty OJanovac is a 2026-2030 Self Graduate Fellow pursuing a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry at the University of Kansas. He graduated from Western Illinois University with a B.S. (2023) and M.S.  (2025) in chemistry. During his time at WIU he worked on solid state synthesis of materials for potential use as thermoelectric materials. Ty also worked on the synthesis of nanoparticles for use in Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy. While at the University of Kansas, Ty will be studying how Lewis acidity affects the redox potential of uranyl dication complexes in nonaqueous media.
